Reiki has been translated in many different ways which all point to the same directions. To keep it simple, Reiki is mainly translated as True Self and Spiritual Energy.

That is to say that when you experience Reiki, you can tap into the spiritual energy within yourself and all around you with ease, leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life. 

The concept of non-duality is central to Reiki, which emphasises that everything is interconnected. Connecting as much as with oneself as with the world. “All is one” and “One is All”. 

The origins of Reiki can be traced back to Mikao Usui, a Japanese spiritual teacher (1865-1926). He didn’t preach religion but taught a way of living that aimed to help students connect with universal life force energy for self-development.

It’s said that Usui accidentally discovered the hands-on healing aspect of Reiki while healing his twisted ankle after days of meditation on a mountain. This highlights the power of energy and self-healing abilities when aligned with our life force.

To find their True Self, individuals must put in the work themselves, but Reiki teachings can help guide them with the Precepts, Meditation techniques, Symbols and mantras, initiation, and Hands-on healing.

Meditation

Meditation is a tool to achieve inner peace, calmness, and happiness, independent of external factors. With meditation, we connect to our inner, utmost truth that happiness comes within and that defines our reality and perception of the world. 

Meditation is not solely about stopping thoughts; it’s about accepting them as part of ourselves. The goal is to observe our minds without being dragged down by them.

While mindfulness is frequently used to describe the meditative state, the goal is not a full mind but that of an observer, a free mind.

Meditation helps befriend our minds and distance ourselves from fears and worries. By observing and accepting them, we gain perspective.

There are nine different ways to practice meditation and what you choose is a matter of personal preference. Each type can serve you greatly in different circumstances, moods, places and quests in life. We mainly practice with clients; awareness (known as mindfulness) meditation, focused meditation, mantra meditation, progressive relaxation, loving-kindness meditation, visualization meditation and transcendental meditation. We can also provide support and answer questions around spiritual meditation and movement meditation. The first part “MyoRei” consists of two Japanese words/kanji. Two of the translations of “Myo” is bright and light, while “Rei” kanji has been translated as spiritual. So, MyoRei Flow translates to as Spiritual bright light Flow.

When I mention “tools,” I am referring to an array of techniques, methods, and processes that facilitate personal growth and self-discovery. Think of these tools as roots that anchor you in your journey of self-awareness, and that you can readily access whenever you need them.

As you experiment with different tools, you’ll begin to discern which ones resonate with you the most. From breathing exercises to meditation, from soothing music to inspiring books, the possibilities are endless. With regular practice, these tools can help you stay grounded and centered in your pursuit of personal growth.

Life Coaching, Breath-Work, Mediation, and Feng Shui sessions take place primarily online. Exceptions are made in cases where these services are combined with Reiki during the same session. Upon request, these sessions can be in-person sessions but extra costs may occur.

Reiki sessions are mainly in-person, except for distance-Reiki sessions. For the in-person Reiki, the location is in the city center of Amsterdam, or at your space (advise on our Book Now page).
